The Indian Creek Aquatic Club is a summer swim team, a member of the Capital Area Swim League
(CASL), and is open to all area swimmers. Our team philosophy is to promote individual improvement in both stroke technique and event time while having fun during the summer break. With an excellent and
stable coaching staff, we have been able to maintain our legacy of excellence and improvement from year to year. With four coaches on staff, our members have more opportunity to receive individual attention in
practice sessions.
Swimming with the Indian Creek Aquatic Club provides excellent physical conditioning combined with focused
stroke technique development. The coaching staff provides skill appropriate practices for all levels from beginner through advanced.
The team is led by Head Coach James Buck. Coach James is an Indian Creek alumni swimmer, a sophomore
honor student and swimmer at Towson University. Working with Coach James is our assistant coach Alie Zelenky, a freshman
swimmer at Seton Hall University. For more information on our coaches, click HERE to visit the Coaching Staff page.
In addition to our Head Coach and Assistant Coach who coach all levels of swimmers on the Indian Creek team, we have Junior Coaches
selected from our senior practice level team. These coaches are long time members of the Indian Creek team as well as representative of their High School and winter club teams. These Junior Coaches help
provide special attention to our newest swimmers to help ensure that these youngsters receive as much individual attention as possible.
Excellent role models for team members of all ages, our coaching staff provides training and stroke instruction
in a fun, controlled, and positive atmosphere.
The team's optional spring training clinic is held at indoor at the West Shore YMCA. Summer practices
and home swim meets are held in the outdoor pool at the Indian Creek Recreation Club (the "REC Club"). Swim team members are not required to join the REC Club, but club membership is available to anyone.
The secluded setting is a great alternative to the crowds at other area pools and membership is far less costly than other private clubs in the area. Facilities include 25 meter pool with diving well, tennis
and basket ball courts.
